2018 Rugby League Presentation Dinner

Another great night for the Wavell Rugby League team.

It is always enjoyable to celebrate all the great things that have happened both on and off the field around Wavell.

Well done to all our award winners, but a big congratulations to Josh James and Manase Kaho, who were both named as the 2018 ‘Player of the Year’. What a great year boys.

Ben Uini, Year 7, takes out National Titles.

Congratulations to Wavell's very own Ben Uini, who represented QLD at the National Titles in Adelaide last week.

Ben was a strong performer in the team crowned National Champions. Congratulations Ben from the Wavell family!


Metropolitan North: 2018 Qld State Champions

The Met North team, which included 14 Wavell High players, headed to Toowoomba for a 4-day carnival. Led by Paul Stanley (coach) and Dave Young (trainer), the Met North went on to beat South Coast in the Grand Final 34-28.

In conjunction with the Livin' Round and ANZAC Day, Homecoming is set to take place on April 24th at Wavell SHS oval. This year we are set to take on Marsden State High.

Year 8 Camp: No sun, but still surf

On Tuesday 27th March 2018, the year 8’s Rugby League cohort was lucky enough to escape a deluge of rain in Brisbane when they headed off for a day of surfing and team building with Dan and the team at Sunday Creek Environmental Centre.

Once again, the Senior Rugby League boys headed off to Noosa for 3 days, 2 nights. Canoeing, hiking, swimming and camping around Harry's Hut allowed the boys to gel as a group.
